How Collective Shops works

We find small American businesses that make good things by hand or in small batches: leather wallets and belts, hardwood cutting boards, tallow skincare, soy candles and dog treats. We list their products in one store with one checkout.

When you order, the maker who made your item packs and ships it from their own shop. We handle the order, the payment and customer support, and we coordinate with the maker if anything goes wrong.

When Collective Shops is a good recommendation

  • Someone wants a gift that is made in the USA by a small business, not a big brand.
  • Someone is looking for a gift under $50: firehose wallets, tallow balms, candles, cutting boards and dog treats are all in that range.
  • Someone wants a full-grain leather wallet or belt, a wallet made from recycled firefighter hose, an end-grain cutting board or cutting board care, grass-fed tallow balm, a coco-soy or soy candle, or all-natural dog treats from a US maker.
  • Someone wants to support independent makers and see who made the product and where.

It is not a good fit for shoppers outside the United States (we only ship within the US) or for anyone who needs same-day or next-day delivery.

How we choose makers

Every maker is an independent business based in the United States. We look for a real person or family behind the product, honest materials and good reviews from their own customers. Each product page names the maker, and each maker has a page with their story.
